My Project
By providing button makers, hot glue guns, a circle die cut, and a BeaverBot cardboard saw, students will have the tools to design, build, and prototype their ideas, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. These materials will encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and perseverance as students engage in STEM-based projects, express themselves artistically, and develop real-world maker skills that enhance their overall learning experience.
My key goals are to build confidence and resilience, support cross-curricular learning, and encourage collaboration and team work, through hands on maker skills.
My students are resilient, creative, and eager to learn, despite facing economic and linguistic challenges. As Title I students in a school where 100% qualify for free and reduced lunch, many come from historically underserved communities with limited access to hands-on learning resources. With a high percentage of minority and English Language Learner (ELL) students, they bring diverse perspectives, cultures, and experiences into the classroom. They thrive in environments that foster creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving, making the makerspace a crucial space for them to explore, innovate, and develop skills that will empower their futures.
