My Students
Our community is comprised of a diverse group of people, living in a rural area, with many urban needs. We encounter many challenges, when meeting those needs, but work everyday to make each student feel safe and like they belong here.
Children have the right to see themselves in the work they do.
Our students have been gaining that in our school, but I would like to see this go further, with offering materials that are high-interest, relevant and diverse... to meet the needs of ALL students.
My Project
Our goal is continuing to bring special books to our literature-rich environment. By always scouring for the newest reads, these books will allow our students to experience high-quality books throughout the year.
There is nothing quite like opening a brand new book.
For that book to have characters, and life stories that emulate your own, our students feel a sense of self-worth and value unlike any other. With this year being so uncertain, the flood of new reads will bring a sense of specialness to the classrooms and help students feel safe.
