Help me give my students a charging center for our Virtual Reality headsets! We need headset stands for storage, skins to tell the headsets apart, and a multiple USB charger to power up!
My students are bright, energetic, and oh-so-curious! These 4th & 5th grade students come from different socioeconomic backgrounds and nationalities to form a special kind of learning community in my gifted education enrichment classroom in a small city in Mississippi.
Students come to my gifted class once a week eager to get their minds working and their hands dirty as we tackle projects that develop critical thinking, problem-solving strategies, and team-building.
I am fortunate to work with my students for two consecutive years, and that means I have to keep the learning new, fresh, and exciting. My students teach me as much as I teach them and I do my best to keep up!
My Project
We are so lucky to have a new class set of Lenovo Mirage Solo Virtual Reality headsets! VR opens up a universe of possibilities that we could only dream about before. We're going to apply geography by exploring the world on virtual field trips. We're going to zoom into a cell and zoom out into our solar system to better understand science concepts.
Our wildest dreams are about to come true, but we can't forget to stay grounded in reality which is why we need storage and charging accessories for our VR headsets.
Can you imagine missing out on a cool experience because the battery is low? That's sad! Can you imagine walking into a classroom with 9 colorful mannequin heads sporting VR gear? That's awesome!
By adding colorful and unique "skins" (removable protective stickers) to the headsets, students will be able to tell the headsets apart and feel a sense of ownership in "their" headset. To paraphrase Beyonce, "If you like it, then you should have put a skin on it!"
