Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 8th grade RLA students in an area where school isn’t their first priority. It can be challenging and expensive to get students to come to class at least twice a week. With these items, I can engage students with activities that serve their interests and give them an incentive that may have them come to class more often.

Last semester, students were able to make significant progress in the classroom, but we are trying to reach higher levels.

Students are now excited about learning, and I want them to keep going with positive energy. The items on this list, such as markers, pencils, paper, and glue, are things students informed me they would like in the classroom.

I love that my students are working long and hard to make a change in their school letter grade. These resources will help my students move their school from a F to hopefully a B campus!
