My Project
As a Student Relations Coordinator I have the honor of being a safe space for scholars when they are dysregulated. This generation of scholars sometimes are over clouded with emotions and struggle to control their outside display of those emotions.
The focus room allows a space for scholars to identify their sensory based needs and learn how to regulate and rejoin their communities.
The outdoor bench will give students alternative seating outside the room to sit quietly and read when they have regulated. The rugs will be used to separate the room into zones when students come in to calm down. Sometimes florescent lights can be over stimulating. The curtains will help to block light when a softer light is needed in the space. The office chair will give stable seating when working with students.
