My Project
My second graders love math. One of the best ways to encourage their love of numbers is through manipulative. Those hands on items that make a math lesson more real and life like for them. We have to unit of study that really need a hands on approach. The first one is money and the second is measuring. We love "spending and saving" our fake money and coming up with real world problems to solve it with.
Measuring also important in our practice of math because it is used in our everyday lives.
Measure twice and cut once as the old saying goes.
