My Students
I want to build the greatest art program in our charter's organization. It's all in the details, and having stools for all the students to sit on is key to creating a top-notch art classroom.
We are a Title 1 school in west Philly that has a mission to transform the entire neighborhood, one child at time.
Our students are bright, curious and creative that shine given the right environment. We fight to address all of the specific needs of our neighborhood students and work tirelessly to achieve only the best. My principal has provided me with unwavering support and I will stop at nothing to have one of the best art programs in Philadelphia.
My Project
In an art room, the ability to be able to move around the classroom efficiently, both by the teacher and students, is key. Students need mobility in the safest way possible and the teacher doesn't have a moment to waste stumbling around amongst the bulky, space-eating chairs that occupy the art room currently. With the introduction of stools, the flow of the classroom will be improved dramatically and the overall efficiency of the classroom will increase tenfold. Not only that, clean up at the end of the day will be easier because the stools will sit nicely on the top of the tables at the end of the day, as opposed to the bulky blue chairs that perch precariously on top of the desks currently, only needing a slight bump to send them toppling to floor in a domino-like effect.
These stools will create an environment of success: not only will the students see the dramatic increase in the aesthetic flow of the classroom after replacing all of the bulky blue chairs, but they will feel it when they are able to navigate the art room effortlessly and safely.
