This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My urban students do not always have access to the immense world beyond their immediate community. I want to open their eyes to the world they live in by means of hands-on projects and country studies. I want my students to learn geography, (something we have not been doing in the elementary grades for a while), and doing so by using black and white maps is not the best way. I want my students to have beautiful colorful representations of maps and have the opportunity to research and print images to include in their projects.
