This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are dedicated readers, they love spending time in the library. The way they light up when they find a book that resonates with them is truly magical. I love watching them grow, not just academically, but as individuals—learning to think critically, to question, and to dream.
Bookshelves are more than just storage; they’re gateways to new worlds, ideas, and possibilities.
For my students, a well-organized shelf means they can access the books easily. It also encourages a love for reading because the more accessible the books are, the more they’re tempted to explore. A neatly arranged shelf gives them a sense of ownership over their learning environment, and a space to keep their personal treasures—books they can come back to again and again.
Having bookshelves will not only help keep our learning environment tidy and organized but will also inspire my students to see learning as something ongoing and limitless. It will show them that knowledge doesn’t just sit on a page—it’s ready to be discovered, and the shelf is just the beginning of their journey.
