This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a public school in Tucson, Arizona. Our school is nestled in the Sonoran Desert where wildlife such as, javelina, bobcats, and snakes visit frequently.

Here at Robins K-8 we have a group of fantastic first graders!

They are very eager learners and hard workers. Each student is unique and brings something special to our classrooms.

Reading is a fundamental skill learned in first grade. Each of our students learn at their own pace and we are here to support them through their journey.

My Project

With the headphones our students will have the opportunity to close read on the computers in the lab. Currently it is very difficult for our first grades to hear while completing our reading and math program on the computers. With 20 students in each class the volume gets louder than expected. For example in reading, students must listen to a story and then answer questions about that story.

We will have our students write in their writing journals every day.

For example, students are currently writing personal narratives. These journals will allow for students to write and draw a picture to go along with their story. Thank you so much!
