This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each year, I develop a greater love for decodable books. I am working towards slowly converting my library to becoming fully decodable. I love the variety of books in this project.
I have taken a greater emphasis on the importance of using nonfiction books. Allowing my students access to reading decodable nonfiction books would empower their ability to learn on their own, even in first grade.
I also support older students who are reading at a first grade level. Through engaging and visually appealing decodable texts, students can be given a chance to practice the skills they need, in a developmentally appropriate way! Thank you!
