My Students

In the heart of New Jersey, our school has a diverse student population that draws from five feeder districts. Our students’ interests vary greatly due to variations within our environment. Popular hobbies include hunting and fishing and range from surfing and skating. There is a small indie music scene, as well as many popular cover bands that play up and down the shore area.

We have a wonderfully eclectic mix of students, from many diverse backgrounds.

What unites them all is their passion for learning music, approaching the subject from a youthful exuberance. My job is simple: to cultivate their motivation for learning.

My Project

This project will increase the joyful music-making experiences in my classroom. We already have the essential elements of a fully functioning recording studio, but we don't have any live vocal automation or effects. That's where this wonderful voice processor comes into the mix, the TC Helicon "Play Electric Voice Processor for Electric Guitarists"!

We could now add live effects during the tracking process such as reverb, compression, delay, harmonies, and different modulation effects.

Exposing students to the inner workings of the audio recording process can open up their ears and new avenues of possible career choices. This is also a prime example of 21st century cutting edge technology which would be a fantastic addition to classroom for my students.
