My Students
I believe that every student should walk into a well-stocked classroom where they will always have the supplies to create, learn, and explore new ideas.
Welcome to a 3rd grade, a bilingual classroom full of hard-working, enthusiastic students!
My bilingual classroom is the landing spot for 3rd graders who have just arrived in the United States. My students are incredibly hard workers who always come to school ready to learn, no matter what is going on outside of the classroom. My goal as a teacher is to provide my students with all that they need to be successful learners.
My Project
In today's world, it is vitally important for students to learn by doing. Providing hands-on, challenging activities for my ELL students is an excellent way to build both language and problem-solving skills. Throughout the school year, my students participate in project-based learning, such that all of our units of study revolve around a driving question and end with a public product. Being that our school focuses on engineering, architecture and the arts, my students usually create their public product using the materials housed in our classroom makerspace.
Having a fully-stocked supply closet and makerspace will help my students to learn by doing in our project-based learning classroom.
Since I made the switch to project-based learning units three years ago, I have noticed my students becoming more active, eager, hands-on learners. They love coming to class and working on different projects designed to help them learn about the sciences, social studies, language, and math. The materials featured here will be used by my students in many different project-based units, such as using knowledge of communities to design and build a city, or recreating homes and buildings that can withstand the effects of climate change. With your support, my students will be welcomed into a fully stocked classroom ready for learning!
