Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This very diverse class brings me such joy! We have five languages, seven races, and a variety of religions represented. Our district is in a low-income suburb of Seattle where over 50% of our students receive free or reduced-cost breakfast and lunch.

This group has genuinely good hearts, working collaboratively with minimal issues!

They have created their own class charter to ensure we feel safe, challenged, and respected. I want to do everything I can to help them succeed and thrive in college and their careers!

My Project

How are my 4 desktop computers like an air-conditioner? They stop working properly when you open too many windows! All joking aside, my class of 26 needs Chromebook computers to do the complex work of researching, typing their writing, and accessing class assignments online. We use computers to play Kahoots (an online quiz game you wish you had in school!), as well as to connect with others around the world using Mystery Skype to broaden our worldview.

Help my scholars research their WWII questions, access video content at their math level, and become more culturally competent.

Our students need access to regular typing practice, as well, to jump start them into all kinds of careers. They argue over the four computers I have, please help us equip them with the tools they need to succeed!
