My students need standing tables, bean bag chairs, and floor pillows in order to help them learn in an environment that is conducive to 21st century learning.
The students at MHHS are motivated, driven, and eager to be successful. They come from a variety of different ethnic backgrounds and often speak more than one language. They are eager to be a positive force in college or in their careers.
The cultural diversity of the school is what makes our student population unique.
Their eagerness and willingness to exchange ideas makes our school a perfect environment to learn. We are eager to help them prepare for work/college in any way possible.
My Project
I am a teacher at a public high school that emphasizes Blended Learning, Flipped Classrooms, and Mastery Based Grading. I would like to raise money to buy furniture for two classrooms at my school. I'm interested in creating an environment that is comfortable and relaxing for students to learn in. I want to make these two classrooms at MHHS into a place that encourages collaboration and fosters creativity.
The classroom should not be a place that is intimidating.
Instead, it should be welcoming and inviting. Having this furniture will help myself and another teacher become facilitators in the classroom and help the students become active learners.
