I teach at a charter school full of bright, energetic, curious students. My students come from diverse backgrounds and have different learning styles. For that reason, I am always looking for engaging lessons and hands-on learning activities that reach the needs and learning styles for all my students.
My students are excited about learning, explaining their thinking, sharing what they know, and experiencing the world around them.
My students work hard and play hard. No matter what we are learning about, my students fearlessly dive into learning and give it their all.
My Project
The resources I have requested will bring an at-home literacy plan to my classroom, because as I acquire more books to teach comprehension strategies, students will be able to take them home each night to practice their skills they are learning in class. I would like to implement at-home visits next year and the book carriers will help me to bring books to my student's home. Student's will also be able to bring home books nightly and the carriers will help keep my books protected, organized, and safe!
Building bridges between learning at school and learning at home is very important to me.
I think that my students will ultimately benefit from these books whether they are used in the classroom or at home!
I have asked for a yoga ball chair because giving my students flexible seating options has allowed students to get their wiggles out in a safe way without distracting other students.
The classroom organizers I am asking for will help organize the book totes I am requesting and some writing folders I am currently using in my classroom. As I become more and more organized, I see a difference in my students' performance. These materials will help make my classroom (even) greater again and again and again for years to come!
