My Students

"Once you learn to read, you will be forever free." - Frederick Douglas; My 80 awesome students are continually striving to learn to read or perfect their reading. We practice guided reading daily and students are able to take home books from my classroom library on their independent reading level.

My Project

There's no place like home! Research shows that students grow and learn better when they feel comfortable in their environment. Having a large rug in my classroom would allow the students to sit down while reading. It would also help them feel more relaxed and creates a more home-like atmosphere.

I would love to provide a comfortable learning atmosphere where students can sit comfortably on a classroom rug and read.

Currently, in my classroom, I have a small, older rug that I brought in from home. Please help me fulfill this project!
