My Project
Learning music theory or how we read music can unfortunately have a negative sound when taught traditionally (away from one's instrument). Combining music literacy with music games is a fun way to remove the angst and anxiety a student may feel when learning to read music. While removing the stress of learning, game-based learning is a great way to improve young learners' creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Play-based (music making) learning is also an excellent way to experience music, by putting it to practice and making it fun for all learners.
With these new books, my students will improve their music literacy and gain motivation to play their instruments even more.
All of my students will be able to work in the music theory workbook and then play music games that back up their learning. I usually teach the steelpan instruments by rote (ear training), but reading and writing music on paper is just as important for my students to learn. They will be able to strive on any instrument and compete on the international music stage! Theory + Games = Greater Love for Music.
