My Students

“Music is about communication, creativity, and cooperation, and by studying music in schools, students have the opportunity to build on these skills, enrich their lives, and experience the world from a new perspective.” – Bill Clinton This is a philosophy I live by in my music classroom.

I teach Preschool through third grade music in a Title I school district in New Jersey.

Over the years, I have taught music in many grades and many places, but I have found none to be as rewarding as teaching young children music. It is with the very young that you can instill a love for the art and create a foundation for a lifelong appreciation of music.

My Project

I am asking for a guitar so that I can learn how to play and accompany my students. With a guitar, I can sit on the floor, move around the room, and interact with my students, all while accompanying them. I have several guitar books that I can use to learn the instrument, I just need a guitar to keep in the classroom and to practice on. I am also asking for a copy of the curriculum "Recorder Karate 2." With this great curriculum, I will be able to develop engaging, exciting, and fun recorder lessons for my students. The curriculum also includes guitar accompaniments, which I will learn to play.

With your help, I will have two great new ways to create a better musical experience for my students.

The guitar and curriculum will surely be invaluable tools to help me help my students to develop a passion for music.
