My Project

I love the enthusiasm and playful nature of my little band of first graders. These students learn best through play and manual manipulation, especially when learning a richly conceptual-driven subject such as math.

These magnetic base ten blocks will certainly help my students understand math visually and tangibly in a way that will help deepen their conceptual understanding.

The magnetic feature will enable me to present lessons to the whole class and in small groups because I can display various numeric quantities on any magnetic surface, such as the whiteboard at the front of the room, the easel at the back of the room, or on an individualized magnetic board during 1:1 or small group instruction. I like options, and I know my students will love to "play" with their math, too.

My goal is to make math fun and memorable, and these magnetic base ten blocks will be a nice addition to my classroom!
