My Students

My students are the most inspiring children you will ever meet. They come from some of the roughest backgrounds being at a Title I school and yet they come in each day with a smile on their face and ready to learn. They are so eager to learn new things and collaborate with their peers.

Most of my students are on their own when it comes to learning at home because their parents do not speak English well, or not at all.

If they do speak English, most of their parents never graduated high school, let alone went to college. This makes their time in the classroom crucial especially learning core subjects like English and Math. It stresses for me the importance of teaching them that they can dream and go far in life.

My Project

My students learn Math the best through games and review. These math puzzles will be the perfect station for them to do independently and in partners. They will also serve as great test review for the end of the year.

These Math games will allow them to review topics we've learned and gain a better understanding of math topics like money, time, and place value.

Topics that are crucial for them succeeding in 2nd grade and beyond. They will learn equivalency and how to look at math in different ways. It will also help them build social skills as they work together in partners and small groups.
