My Students

My students work hard every day to become the best students they can be. My students are officially coming back to in-person learning this year after a whirl-wind of virtual learning. I have students with a wide range of needs in my classroom that require many different styles of learning. Some students love hands on materials while learning while others like a visual approach.

I teach students with individualized needs that learn through a variety of learning styles.

I want all of my students to feel comfortable and welcome in my classroom. I wish for my classroom to be a safe learning space for every student that walks through the doors. My students are always eager to learn and try their best to achieve success.

My Project

Math manipulatives are a great tool to use with students. They are an easy and fun way to get students involved in learning. With hands on activities students feel fully immersed into what they are learning. For the younger students, using base ten blocks and math cubes helps them enhance their one to one correspondence. They are seeing the individual blocks as they are counting them. For the older students, using fraction tiles and multiplication charts helps them better understand the concepts.

Creating an environment where math is seen as a fun activity inspires kids to want to learn.

Using these math games and activities keeps the students engaged and responsive. Including visuals around the room also provides students with reminders and prompts.
