Help me give my students math supplies for distance learning. My students do not have access to math manipulatives that can make learning math from home easier and more effective.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Veliu's classroom raised $899

My Students
Our school community is very diverse with a large cultural rainbow which enriches the full experience of the school. We have an ELL population which covers over half of the student population and over a dozen languages spoken. As a classroom teacher, I have a great opportunity to teach my students cross-curricular standards.
So many of our students come from low-income and immigrant families.
Our school is the only exposure they have to enriching activites, in many cases. Our school offers many programs such as art, STEM, music, dance, and theatre, which many children would not receive outside of school. They truly love to come to school every day and I truly love being there to greet them and witness them make new discoveries every day.
My Project
Learning math for second graders means hands on, non abstract, computing and number solving. This year we will learn place value, addition and subtraction with regrouping, how to tell time and count money, identify 3-D shapes and their attributes, graphs and charts. My distance learners are making the most of the virtual number lines, hundred charts, place value mats, and other math resources. However, it is not the same. They need tangible resources to use at home. I have 32 students that learn in a multitude of ways. My students are learning under extraordinary circumstances and sign into their classes everyday with a smile, motivated, and ready to learn. I am honored to be their teacher. Their current situation has limited their access to math supplies that they would normally have in the school building. Please help my students get what they need to learn math effectively from the safety of their homes!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
