My Students
I have grades K-5 as a school librarian. I am continually working on increasing the love of learning in all of my students. Anything from how to find books within the library system to lessons that go with popular read aloud books while in the library.
They only get a limited time in the library and I want to make it as enjoyable of an experience as possible.
I encourage all of my students to find books that they will enjoy and help encourage them to read.
My Project
I am new to this school library and we need some updating! I see kids once a week and to help make that library time more enjoyable I want the ability to have the teachers return the students library books before they come in on their library day. The crates allow the teachers to have a place that is specifically for returning library books back to the library and for the books to travel back to class, as usually the students are headed to another special after they see me.
Everyone wants a comfy place to sit while reading.
The round chairs will be a great addition to the school library to allows the students have a special place to read their books while in the library and enjoy their books. While they are enjoying their new book for the week (or maybe they have renewed their book for another week) why not have a fun book mark to help keep their place for the next time they pick up their book to read.
This library is due for some make overs and all of the shelves need to some re-labeling and classifying. the labels will allow me to do so with the already existing label maker.
I want the students to enjoy the time that they are in here and want them to look forward to coming to the library every week with their class and even when I am open before school.
