My Students
The overarching feeling amongst all my students is that they love school, they miss it, and are looking for ways to remain connected to their educational community. Remote learning can make it more difficult to maintain this connection; however, technology can provide a bridge between me and my students. The children I work with all have special needs such as autism, intellectual disability, and dyslexia. They all live in Brooklyn, NY, yet come from a wide range of backgrounds and live in homes where a myriad of languages are spoken. We celebrate these different backgrounds and are always learning about each other's cultures.
My Project
This MacBook will be at the heart of making the most engaging speech therapy sessions while students are both in and out of the classroom.
During these unprecedented times, we never know if we will be teaching remotely or from the classroom one day to the next.
This MacBook will help me be prepared to transition seamlessly from working remotely to working in person when the time comes. There are so many ways a MacBook will improve student learning and engagement, from allowing me to create a digital speech therapy room all the way to creating interactive, real-time educational games. Thank you for considering donating to this project, your help is deeply appreciated!
