This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school. My students are faced with challenges on an everyday basis. I am looking to give my students opportunities to make learning engaging and exciting and to close the achievement gap so that they have access to all the materials that they need to succeed.

My students are resilient, creative, and they are thirsty to learn using the most current 21st-century tools and technology.

They love to explore and learn by doing and by being hands-on to create something, not by using worksheets. My students inspire me to be a better teacher and to give them opportunities to learn in meaningful, life-changing ways.

My Project

I know that this mobile whiteboard will be an important instructional tool for teaching all subjects and for all students in my classroom. There are so many possibilities of how it can be used. The mobility of this whiteboard means that my students and I can use it all over the room, and since it's double-sided, that means that more students can use it. It can be used for whole group instruction, small group, and independent work.

With the use of this whiteboard in my classroom, the possibilities are endless and I can facilitate student learning better and provide immediate feedback.

Right now we are limited to small whiteboards. This large whiteboard will allow groups of students to work together to plan, solve problems, and learn collaboratively. I know that this whiteboard will be an exciting part of our classroom that many of the students will be drawn to. As a teacher, it will be easy for me to see the students' work and to provide feedback for my students.
