My Students

Students at my school are a family. We rely on each other in all aspects of our life. We are a small community, which allows us to really get to know the whole student, their family, their life outside of school. School is not only about academics, but about helping to raise strong and thoughtful men and women who will contribute to creating a society that takes care of all its people.

Students at our school often come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Despite these challenges, students show up to school every single day with a growth mindset, ready to tackle the challenges of the day. I have said to students often - the joy I see every day from students who have every reason to be angry with the world is an inspiration. That joy keeps me coming back year after year, and keeps this school community at the very center of the life of my own family.

My Project

Students are ready to learn! Teachers around the world are working hard to transfer their normal teaching plans into virtual models so that we can adapt and meet the needs of our students, even during a global pandemic! The materials in this project will allow me to create a small studio in my classroom that will be used to make engaging and fun content for my students, no matter where the learning is taking place!

My district is starting the year entirely virtual.

The tools in this project will allow me to transform my physical classroom into a virtual learning hub. The iPad, mic and accessories will help me create engaging content for my students. The blackboards will allow me to create unique and interesting backgrounds for these new videos, sparking creativity and critical thought in my students!
