My Students

My students are very active, hands-on learners. I have 23 five-year-olds in my classroom, so learning whole group can sometimes be tough.

I am looking for materials to use for small group instruction.

I teach at a Title I school so funds are very hard to find and most of the time I am spending my own money. I find new stuff daily that I feel would benefit my kids.

My Project

Some of the materials that I am asking for are fiction books. As a kindergarten teacher, reading every day and teaching vocabulary is one of the most important things. The nonfiction books can also be used to integrate science and social studies into my daily lessons.

I am trying to use a minimum amount of worksheets if possible, and provide more hands-on experience for my kids.

I am also asking for a Beginning Sounds Phonemic Awareness Box and CVC word games as my students are preparing for first grade. They are starting to read, so they need more challenging activities to spark more learning.
