My Students

We are a blessed group of students. Our children are all between the ages of 3 and 4 years old. They have all been diagnosed with different disabilities. All of them have goals related to social skills. They have trouble using their hands to grip items such as cars, small building blocks, and crayons. The majority of our students are autistic and downs, and they require a lot of different activities. Most of them live in low-income​ apartment households.

With our children having a large range of disabilities, hands-on learning is very important.

Many of our students are non-verbal and have limited mobility. Using puzzles and games would be a fun and wonderful way for them to accomplish these social goals. The puzzles, games and building blocks could be used either as a group or a single person activity. The items that I am requesting will give our students a fun learning tool which can help them with not only their fine motor skills but also with their social skill. What better way of learning then to have fun with your classmates!

My Project

Our student's struggle with lack of social skills. With the wonderful floor puzzles and building blocks they can work either by themselves or as a group to accomplish their final task/goal. What excitement they will feel when this goal has been completed!

Many of our children also have goals on learning to share with each other.

With playing together on different board games they can have fun, learn to count and most of all learn to take turns. The joy of being able to play something fun, and learn the wonderful skill of sharing that they will carry forever. That's exciting!
