My Students
My kindergartners are an amazing group of kiddos! They are enthusiastic and love to experience and learn new things.
In our classroom we value diversity and celebrate what makes each of us unique.
We balance a hearty kindergarten curriculum focusing on academics and skills that promote strong social and emotional learning. We embrace challenges and adversity to build self-cofifence, compassion and learn to never give up.
More than half of my students are from low-income households, several are English Learners, a handful have identified special needs and we have at least few students that suffer from the effects of trauma. Many of my students have not had a pre-school experience before starting kindergarten.
My classroom is a safe, caring and supportive environment. My students are learning to love school and learning right from the start!
My Project
Our school lost our entire primary building in a fire, two years ago this January. We are beyond excited to be moving into our newly rebuilt building in the same location over the next couple of months!
My kindergartners will need a variety of new educational materials as we move into our newly rebuilt classroom.
This project includes developmentally appropriate and engaging toys that my students will use as they learn through play.
I have chosen a variety of items to meet sensory needs, support letter and number recognition, encourage use of STEM strategies, and encourage social skills through dramatic play.
