My Students

I have a group of book-loving learners who are eager to work hard and succeed. These students come from a wide variety of backgrounds--families from all socio-economic backgrounds, different cultures, different levels of education.

This year, many of my students have discovered their love for reading and can't seem to get their hands on enough books...especially books from other cultures and about non-fiction topics.

All these kids share the common goal of wanting to do the best they can and to read really great books!

My Project

Students are always on the prowl for books that will take them to new and exciting places...these books will literally immerse them in the history and traditions of other cultures through fiction, non-fiction and folktales!

These books will help to ignite a love for reading while also fostering a love for learning and experiencing new cultures.

Our world is a wide and diverse place and every person we meet brings a different story with them...one we may never learn! This project will help get books in our hands that can help bridge that gap and fill it with folktales, stories about famous figures and places.
