Brightly colored murals, beautiful garb, fresh fruits and vegetables at the corner market, and the smell of delicious Indian food coming from the nearby kitchen; this is the environment my students live in.
We have a beautiful neighborhood that embodies the Indian culture.
Unfortunately, my school is in a low-income neighborhood. Many of my students, a diverse mix of cultures too, attend a school that strives to give these eager students who are ready to learn, an excellent education. Many of them are first-generation Americans and are excited to begin school.
My Project
As a teacher, I am always striving for my students to always do their best work. After completion of a writing assignment or project in social studies or science, I see how proud my kiddos are of their success. The smile on their faces is priceless!
Being able to provide my kiddos with a variety of colored paper is a basic classroom need!
A laminator machine is also a staple for every classroom. Kiddos should be able to have their work and accomplishments last! These basic classroom materials would help a classroom run on success!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
