This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At the end of the school year, I want my students to have learned all the concepts I have taught them in an enjoyable manner through a hand-on approach. The biggest challenge I face in my science class is not having the adequate material to have them learn by experimenting themselves.
My students are fifth grade inner city children in the state of Illinois who primarily reside in low income households.
They are phenomenal students who just need that extra push with the correct resources. My students are fascinated with what the world of technology has brought us!
My Project
Using dry erase boards allows me as a teacher to check my students understanding immediately by having them raise their boards up in the air. The students feel as though it is more of a game than work. They can easily work together, helping each other gain a better understanding of a math or language arts skill. Students can also erase and fix mistakes easily. They feel as though they are more in control of their own learning, making them more confident, self-regulated learners. Thus I am asking for expo markers to allow for this to happen. Students will work together to answer the question promoting tolerance against each other and allow them to create wonderful pieces of art.
With your help, my students will once again be learning with enthusiasm as they use dry erase boards.
As much as they help with learning math facts, language arts, and science, the best lesson that they will have is learning the importance of saving our trees and environment by not wasting paper!
