My students need a goggle sanitizer and goggles to participate in high quality science instruction and experiments safely. The sanitizer is necessary to fully clean the goggles.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in Holyoke, MA. Many of my students are from low income and poverty households. Recently we have received many students from Puerto Rico due to the hurricane. Our school was taken over by the state two years ago because of poor student performance. Many of our students come to school excited and ready to learn. It is hard to teach science without science equipment, though.
I want to provide the best learning environment for my students and really want to provide an avenue for careers in science.
My Project
Safety is the most important aspect of high-quality STEM science instruction. Keeping students safe while keeping them engaged can be a challenge, especially when you do not have access to quality equipment.
The Safety goggles I'm requesting need special cleaning to keep students from contracting germs from another student.
The first step is a high-quality goggle sanitizer. I am creating a new grade 5 & 6 science lab in our school to provide my students with the equipment they need. Our school is in a very low-income area surrounded by much wealthier districts that have all the necessary supplies to enrich the students in their schools. I am trying to create a level field for my students to succeed and foster their interest in science.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
