Make Indoor Recess Fun

My Students

"I grew two levels!" a student exclaimed. Students cannot wait to share their growth with their peers and teachers at our school. Our students attend a zoned school in east Nashville where 100% of students receive free lunch. All students walk or are driven to school, and parents and families are eager to be a part of our community!

My students are full of love!

I cannot wait to see each of their faces in the morning. Every day, we start with literacy centers, go to specials (yoga, gym, music, or math intervention), whole group reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Every day, they grow socially and academically to be their best selves.

My Project

It is that time of year again, where it is too cold or too rainy to go outside. I am asking for items such as crayons, markers, glue, scissors, Playdough, games, and Legos in order to make indoor recess fun! These items will provide 2nd grade (3 classrooms) with the materials needed to make indoor recess just as fun as outdoor recess. Kids love to play with Legos, but each class only has 1-2 boxes right now, which is hard to share. Kids also love to play games and play with play dough. These items will allow students to be creative during playtime, build social skills, and allow their brain to relax and have fun, which is what recess is for!
