My Project
Students often get overwhelmed with the names and dates re European exploration of the "new world". By having a desktop map in front of them, students will be able to picture how each explorer set out from a different country and where they made first contact with the indigenous peoples.
Using these laminated maps students will be able to draw the routes of explorers and other historical events (e.g.
the transatlantic triangular trade) for themselves at their desks. This will facilitate many different lesson plans.
Lastly students will gain a better sense of the world by having a world map in front of them daily.
More than half of students from low‑income households
