This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This new school year I will be teaching a group of 30 English language learners. I have not met my third graders of this new school year. And, I will be teaching them remotely for the first whole quarter.

The students I get every year are a group of bright, kindhearted, silly kids.

This year, with the pandemic and starting the year off completely remote will be difficult for all students, and me. Our school community has been one of the hardest hit by Covid in Chicago. Families have gotten ill, have lost jobs, and have had problems with housing. I just hope that my students this year can try to be like those bright, kindhearted, silly kids I know they can be besides the circumstances. I hope they can be those students that love to learn even though they will be doing it at home.

My Project

Our school district has decided to go full remote for the whole first quarter, which is the best decision at the moment for the safety of our students, their families, and our staff. And, during this time my students will be getting taught via live meetings online with me.

The materials I am asking for are for the students to use during their learning from home.

The headphones are for students to be able to listen closely and not let at home distractions get in the way of their learning. The white boards are for students to show their learning on the spot from their screens. The rest of the materials are for students to take notes, do assignments, and work on projects. These materials are essential for the success of my students.
