This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is my fifth year in Kindergarten at a wonderful school. My students are eager 5-6 years olds, coming from a variety of backgrounds. They love to continually be engaged in the classroom!
My students work hard to achieve their goals.
To keep the learning process exciting, I use a variety of materials. This makes my students excited and curious about learning, and I want to make sure I have these materials to foster their love of learning on a daily basis!
My Project
Over the years, I have collected many center materials- some hand made, some store bought. I would love to add some new materials to add to our center rotations to keep small groups fun and exciting for my students. The STEM materials help develop my students' creativity. They use these for "fun" centers, but I enjoy listening to them discuss with each other what they are making and how they put it together. The doodle boards, play doh letters, sight word swat, and batteries to replace the old ones in my Hot Dots pens keep the Word Work Center interesting and fun! The white board erasers will prevent the class from using tissues to erase their white boards, and the wall decals make the room beautiful and welcoming by adding a special touch to our jungle theme. In addition to center materials, I have added Character Education Books about the power of positivity, mindfulness, kindness, and friendship so I can continue to remind my children to be the best versions of themselves in and outside of the classroom!
