This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My music classes service over 40 students per period. These students have been making the best they can with the very limited amount of stands we have. Students have had to make due by sharing one stand per 3 if not 4 students. We need more in order to have two per stand.
My students have made great progress in the very short time that they have been learning music with me.
Many came to me without any prior instrumental music experience. My middle school music classes have become the first line of defense for many students that have not been exposed to music. They have learned to appreciate and share the very limited resources we have.
My Project
The additional music stands will ease the burden of becoming contortionists to see their music on the few of stands we have. The new stands will limit two students per music stand. These two will have a better view of their music. This will also improve their posture and technique since they won't have to sit so close to each other. This will also prevent many unnecessary dings on the instruments as students will have enough space.

This is our first year of music and we look forward to growing bigger and stronger in the years to come. The music stands we are asking are another great step for our young program to grow.
