Make a Speech Pathologist Speechless With Technology
Help me give my students access to technology with an Apple iPad and keyboard, enabling them to do research, use Google Classroom, and use educational apps.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I became a speech-language pathologist to make an impact on young students' lives. All of my students have disabilities and many of my students come from low-income households. Despite their circumstances and challenges, they come ready to learn each and every day. They show determination, drive, courage, and spunk.
This project will help my students become more successful in the classroom and help them achieve their speech and language goals.
My students are using more and more technology in the classroom; however, when they come to receive support services, the same technology is not offered. I want to be able to offer my students technology to use as a way to research information on their own, work on classwork when needed, and engage in educational apps and websites. The iPads and keyboard cases would be the answer to this issue. By having my own personal iPads for my groups, I won’t have to plan around technology availability and work with students as the need arises.
Overall, my students will make progress in their speech and language goals and gain confidence in technology use at the same time!
