My Students

Our school is in a low socioeconomic area, and it is a Title I school. Our district provides only a few essential school supplies, and it falls to the teacher to provide some basic classroom necessities.

Many students come from homes with little or no parental support, and they need us to meet needs that go beyond state standards.

It takes more than worksheets to help students be ready to move on to a higher grade. They need to have their confidence built and be secure in their ability to demonstrate proficiency in a subject. They are ready to learn, and are waiting to be set up for success!

My Project

Math is a subject where there is a lot of erasing, rewriting, and trying again! One of the easiest ways to facilitate learning through trial and error is through the use of personal whiteboards​ and dry erase markers!

With 60 students in our 3rd-grade family, we go through these quickly and are in desperate need of more!

These tools will help us to draw our tape diagrams, write and rewrite our multiplication and division equations, and learn to explain why we did what we did quickly and more efficiently than pencil and paper! We are not afraid of making mistakes!
