This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in an early childhood center in Denton, Texas. Our center houses students from ages three to five with hands-on learning experiences that foster lifelong learners.

My students are motivated daily and seize every opportunity to learn and grow.

My Project

Music ignites child development and builds on educational skills; intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and literacy. Exposing students to music aids the body and mind working together. We will use our musical instruments in class to nurture music exploration. The musical instruments will be used in a whole and small group, teaching rhythm and movement. My students are noticeably more engaged and responsive when music is involved in learning.

This project's donations will expose my students to music while also assisting in learning sounds and words' meaning.

We incorporate music into many learning areas with songs that support literacy, math, and creative arts. I also like to allow free play time with musical instruments to encourage students to explore music and movement. My students are always engaged when music is involved.
