This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first grade students would benefit from adding social-emotional resources such as a rug, A Little SPOT of Feelings books, and sensory fidgets to our classroom. These tools will help them build emotional awareness, self-regulation, and promote positive energy levels. A rug provides a safe and consistent space for community-building activities. A Little SPOT of Feelings books introduce emotions and teach coping strategies in a child-friendly way. The fidgets and puzzle offer calming sensory input, helping students manage anxiety and energy levels.

These resources create a supportive, inclusive classroom where students feel understood, connected, and better prepared to learn and grow socially and academically.
