The three third grade classes of students need to have multiplication facts memorized; for tests, homework and classwork in addition to preparing for their first End-Of-Grade Test in May. Having their own individual set of flashcards will give them a sense of ownership as well as responsibility as the math curriculum becomes more rigorous and moves at a faster pace the second half of the year. These multiplication cards will remain in their book bags which will allow them to practice in other places besides the classroom; on the bus with a friend, at home with a parent or sibling, after school with another teacher. In a way, they will serve as a "Math On-The-Go" manipulative.
