My Students
I teach Kindergarten at a high poverty school. Many of the students have free or reduced lunch. They strive for praise and love to hear words of encouragement. They are a great group of kids who are always eager to learn.
"What do I do now?" This is what I always hear during Math lessons.
With these new materials the children would be able to have hands-on activities that are fun and educational.
The hard economic times are taking a toll on many of the families in our district. I have 19 wonderful and loving students, who are always eager to learn new things.
Children are not meant to sit on the rug or at their desks and do worksheets all day. With these new hands-on materials, the students would be able to have fun while they are learning new math concepts.
My Project
I am asking for eight different math activities to use in my classroom. These resources include, adding and subtraction mats, fishing for numbers game, number practice cards, number bingo and dot practice stamps. All of these will provide new centers for the children to use during math time. They are hands-on activities that the children will love. These activities will inspire the children to learn more and will give them feelings of confidence and achievement when they complete the activities.
By giving to this project you will be changing the lives of 19 children and many more in the future. I want my students to love learning and coming to school. Please open your heart to these wonderful children.
By giving to this project you will help the children have more fun and provide them hands-on activities while learning math.
They will enjoy learning math while doing interactive activities, instead of always doing worksheets. Please help these children to enjoy math with these interactive resources.
