Help me give my students new science fictions novels to read. We also need magnets to put up class presentations.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic but often lack the motivation to work on their classwork. They also need support with English speaking and listening. Most are English learners and are struggling in their English Language Arts class.
My students come from a diverse school in a large city.
Part of the school is a magnet with students from all over the city. My students, however, are comprised mainly of residential students from the local low-income neighborhood. Most are English learners, as well.
My Project
We read novels in class and I, the teacher, am a huge science fiction fan. So I try to offer the best and most interesting novels in the genre. These novels are modern classics and my students will enjoy the reading experience. The students choose their novels and my current classes have several young and enthusiastic science fiction fans. They need to read these incredible pieces of modern literature.
Students need to enjoy reading and to present their learning to the class.
While reading the books, groups of students create projects on their reading novel. Magnets are the best way to hang the presentations in the classroom.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
