Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a classroom filled with little kids eager to learn but do not always have the resources to help them reach their full potential. I teach students with special needs and this means that I must always be flexible with finding different ways of teaching. This could mean I need to use technology, playing equipment, manipulatives, and even things such as different writing utensils (ex. markers, pencils, pens, and even chalk).
The success of my children is my biggest inspiration!
I hope for them to have as many experiences as they can because some may never be able to experience things outside of school.
My Project
Distance learning supplies for at-home learning are needed. This year I am adding a lot of new friends to my special ed classroom; students that have not been in school before. Helping supply them with magnetic boards to learn how to write letters and magnetic letters to start building words will help me, help them from home. They can follow along and stay engaged while I teach online.
The whiteboards are double-sided and magnetic!
One side can be used for math and the other to practice things like, writing their name, letter writing, and then writing their first sentence!
The timer will help them keep track of how long they have with each assignment. It's big enough for them to see from home online and it has a magnetic backing so I can keep it close to me on my board.
A number of the day chart is needed to learn the many ways we can show how to write our numbers and we can do so by counting how many days in school. Its a great and fun daily morning project!
