My Project

I teach at a Prek-5th grade Title I school in a small town in a rural area of North Carolina. Our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are a community of diverse learners who are hardworking, inquisitive, and eager to learn about the world in which they live. I want to give them more opportunities to discover science through play and exploration.

This project will bring the world of magnets and motion alive in our classroom!

With bar magnets, magnetic wands, toy cars, a marble run, and marbles, my students will get to see and feel the forces we study. Books about magnets will help them make connections between real-world reading and real-life science.

These materials will allow my young scientists to experiment, test predictions, and build their understanding of forces. Whether they’re racing cars, creating marble tracks, or exploring what magnets stick to, they’ll develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills—without even realizing it! Thank you for helping my students become the next generation of science explorers!
