Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! They are bright and want to be at school. They truly want to learn and be successful. We are a family.
In this classroom, students feel safe, loved, and accepted.
The entire school is a tight-knit community that is inclusive and diverse. The students in 4th grade are part of large classes with 32 students in each and counting.
My students are resilient and hopeful. They try their best to meet the high expectations set for them. Although English is not the native language of many of my students, they give their best effort and never give up.
My Project
Students need interactive, visual ways of learning. It is important to see math manipulatives, such as base ten blocks, fraction tiles, and geometric shapes. The Giant Magnetic Teaching Manipulatives Complete Set and Dry Erase Number Line will allow me to teach students in an interactive and creative way to engage learners to help with academic growth. Instead of simple basic worksheets, students need engaging activities, especially ESS students and English Learners, to internalize the math concepts being taught. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of mathematical concepts.
