My students need a new CD player and books for the listening center, as well as magnetic math tools they can easily see and manipulate.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us see and listen better! It's often difficult to display math tools, and we need a new CD player and some books to go with it.
I teach first grade in a high-poverty area.
My students love math--it's a very hands-on time! But they often have trouble seeing the math tools when I try to model using them. So, while they still have fun touching pattern blocks and coins, they are not always clear on how to use these tools properly.
We also need a new CD player and some books to go along with it for our listening center!
My Project
With the magnetic math tools, I can easily display and manipulate coins and blocks, for example, so that my students can all see how to properly use them. No more, "I can't see!" With magnets, I can display the tools on the board for all the students to see.
With a new CD player and books, my students will be able to have a more complete listening center!
With your support, my students will be able to learn how to count money, make patterns, understand the base-10 system, and so much more!
They will be more engaged in math lessons by being able to easily see and manipulate these math tools. They will also be able to enjoy a new and expanded listening center!
